The Thing No One Talks About in the Gym

The Thing No One Talks About in the Gym

There’s something that so many women experience…
but hardly anyone talks about.

Especially in the gym.

For me, it became real during one of my heaviest lifts.

I was doing a deadlift—120kg, nearly double my body weight.

I felt strong, focused, and proud of what I was lifting.

And then… my body didn’t cooperate.

I ended up peeing myself right there on the gym floor.

It was one of the most embarrassing moments I’ve ever had.

I had a trainer at the time, and my husband was there too. Thankfully, they handled it quickly and discreetly—but that feeling stayed with me

After that, I was hesitant. It knocked my confidence and made me question whether I should even be doing those kinds of lifts again

The truth is… this is more common than people think.

Pelvic floor issues can affect so many women:

  • After having children
  • As we get older
  • Through hormonal changes

And yet, we don’t talk about it.

Instead, we feel embarrassed, like it’s something we just have to deal with quietly.

I decided to speak to my doctor.

From there, I was referred to a clinic where they started me on exercises to strengthen my pelvic floor.

There are different options depending on your situation:

  • Targeted exercises
  • Devices like TENS machines
  • Other treatments if needed

But for me, it started with understanding my body better and taking small steps.

One of the biggest things that helped me feel confident again wasn’t just exercises—it was having practical support.

Finding the right underwear made a huge difference

Something that gave me peace of mind, whether I was training, walking, or even just going about my day.

Because sometimes, it’s not even about the gym—it can be something as simple as sneezing.

If you’ve experienced this… you are not alone.  It doesn’t mean you have to stop.  It doesn’t mean your journey is over.

It just means your body needs support—and that’s okay.

This is something I’ll be sharing more about, because the more we talk about it, the less alone women will feel.

And that matters 💚 But it’s a muscle very few people train!!!
